Pages & wikilinks

A page holds notes about one topic: a project, a person, a book. Every page has a title, and every page is reachable the same way: by linking to it.

There’s no “new page” button and no delete button. Typing [[ and picking a title that doesn’t exist yet creates that page. Emptying a page out and removing every link to it removes the page too, on your next visit.

Any page can also serve as a template. See Using a page as a template.

Linking to a page

  1. Type [[ at any point in a note.
  2. Keep typing to filter the list of pages that appears.
  3. Pick a page from the list, or pick Create page to make a new one with that title.

The link shows as the page title in brackets. To go to that page, click the link, or put your caret inside it and press Cmd/Ctrl-G. On a Mac, pause with the caret at the end of a link and a Cmd G key hint appears under it. Click the hint to go there too. It stops appearing once you use Cmd/Ctrl-G a few times.

Typing [[ right before an existing ]] puts your caret between them. To turn a word you already wrote into a link, select it and type [. Mimir closes the pair around your selection.

Page titles ignore case and extra spaces. [[my project]] and [[My Project]] link to the same page.

Linking to a specific day

A date in the form YYYY-MM-DD is a page title too. Typing [[2026-07-01]] links to that day’s journal entry, creating it if you never wrote anything that day.

Every page shows a References list underneath its notes. It lists every other place in Mimir that links to the page, with a line or two of the text around each link. That way you can tell which mention you want without leaving the page.

Click a reference to jump straight to it.

In a reference preview, you can act on a note the same way as on its page, but you can’t edit its text. A todo/done marker still toggles when you tap it.

Unlinked mentions

Type a page’s exact title as plain text, without brackets, and Mimir underlines it with a dashed line. It’s a mention Mimir noticed, not a link.

Click the underlined text to turn that one mention into a real link.

A page’s References list also has an Unlinked section: other pages that mention this page’s title without linking to it. Click a mention there to link it. You link mentions one at a time. There’s no “link all” option.
